I spoke to Joe, and here are simplified versions of the material he gave you out for inspiration. Same philosophy behind the original hand outs, in that these stories are just to be used for inspiration.
What's interesting is how universal the stories are: revenge, love, family, and how easily they can be brought into the modern world.
Well done the other day, some great stories thought up on the back of our Irish Mythological creature, the xx (I still can't find the name!)
Emain Macha - A powerful Queen who'll do anything to keep her thrown from the men trying to take it away from her.
Diarmand and Grainne - Forbidden Love! Diarmand must complete tasks to win Grainne's hand in marriage. But at the last task, he tragically dies. Never claiming her love. Ironic?
King Bres - two brothers, one of them the King. One who wants to be King. And the fight between them. Brotherly love versus ambition and the madness of the lust for power.
Children of Lir - a stepmother turns her stepchildren into swans to rid them from her life, only to have the act come back and haunt her. A bad act that intially goes well and then turns sour.
Loads of stuff on youtube about Irish Myths too, well worth a look.
